TANK 1: Settling Down - 17 April 2005

The tank seems to have settled down now with all of the plants still in the gravel. The Yabbies appear to be at ease with the fish and vice versa. It seems to be settling into a reasonable community tank situation. I am thinking of adding some more Mountain Clouds and Chinese Barbs in the near future.

I tested the pH and found it acidic, therefore an adjustment was made to bring it back toward neutral.

The Gold Mountain Cloud Minnows are very active in the mid to top levels of the tank, which should allow for more to be added with little loss due to the Yabbies. Further observation should confirm this.

The Chinese Barbs are exhibiting fantastic schooling behaviour and are often seen bunched together near the bottom of the tank around some plants or object. One Chinese Barb appears to have fallen prey to the Yabbies.
